Self Grade:
A

Haefner, who chairs a committee that examines the cost of legislation, said she's proud of how she's handled budgetary issues, adding "I've done a lot with welfare reform ... that's my mission here -- that and protecting kids."

Our Grade:
D

She chairs the House's Fiscal Review committee, which looks at bills that affect the state (expenditures or reduction in net revenue) beyond $100,000, and sits on seven other committees or subcommittees, meaning her low grade isn't reflective of the work she does behind the scenes. Three of her sponsored bills made it through the House, but didn't get through the Senate. But it's important to note that she was a key speaker on the House floor in favor of getting the St. Louis Zoo sales tax bill passed, despite not co-sponsoring the legislation.
