I was born in New York, NY.
Across the country in California, on that very day, Al met the man who, to this day is still his drummer, John "Bermuda" Schwartz. They played "Another One Rides the Bus" together on the Dr. Demento Show that night.
6 years old. Saw Weird Al for the first time, accidentally, when I went with my mom to a Monkees concert and Al was also on stage there. I vaguely remembered some guy singing about food, then later, when I became a Weird Al fan in 1999, I realized that was him.
First intentional Weird Al concert
My first time at AlCon. It was a wonderful experience. I felt like I had found My People.

Met Al, He signed a record separator w/ "Weird" spelled wrong. Also when I gave him that Cosmo article with someone saying they would sleep with him.
AlCon 3, alas, the last AlCon. Al was there, so that was another time I met him.
The L.A. shows were at the Orange County Fair, which was featuring an exhibit called The Weird Al Experience. It had props and costumes from his videos, some of his actual Hawaiian shirts, his gold records, items from his childhood, etc.

This was the show Heath and I went to after Al's parents passed away. We brought that card and had audience members sign it for him.
Al was Grand Marshal at the Elvis Parade in Kansas City, MO, where we lived at the time. I met him after the parade, and that's when we took that picture of him holding a sign that says "Katie is right!"
I was 8 months pregnant with Ben during this concert. I remember the chair being very uncomfortable, sitting for that long.
Al sat on my lap during "Wanna B Ur Lovr." I was actually pregnant with Sam when that happened, but not really showing yet. So both of my boys went to Al concerts in utero. :)
