People who are hospitalized with COVID-19 spend an average of 11 days in the hospital — but that’s only if they don’t need care in the ICU. Patients who need ICU care generally stay there for another eight days, or 10 if they need to be put on a ventilator, according to the St. Louis Metroplitan Pandemic Task Force.
